Which of these entities are considered as a STATE in the definition given by POLITICAL SCIENCE?

The definition of a state has four parts. Sovereignty, population, a governing body, and the last one escapes me. The united nations, European union, asean, and other union of politics or trade in that manner are not states and are not considered states. places like south korea, which have a separate sovereign government and populous, are indeed states. Taiwan is technically not a state, even though it qualifies as one. Taiwan is technically part of China, it just says that it is the true head of government for china, as supposed to the communists. The UAE, like the US, has a single government that is sovereign, and thus is a state.
