Another confusing boy problem?

sooo i had this best friend who is a guy and i've actually started liking him, i have for a while, but just loved being his friend. recently he found out and i found out that he liked me too but its just been so weird, like ever since he found out we barely talk. i'd rather be his friend then go out with him (it wouldnt be that bad going out with him though). he's been pretty much ignoring me when before this all we would literally talk every second of the day, now its just weird. and he's been talking and flirting with alllll my friends, whats up with him? and what should i do? he told everyone he liked me but its so weird, i just really miss what we used to be when we were so carefree and talked about everrrrrrything
